St. Francis of Assisi 1181-1226
Feast Day: October 4th
Patron Saint of animals, ecologists, and merchants and the founder of the Franciscan order. He was born 1181 in Assisi
and died there on October 3, 1226. He committed his life to the service of God alone, forsaking his family inheritance and earthly goods. A wonderful religious gift.
